November Week 4 Reflection – Melody

Melody's November Week 4 Reflection

What have you observed in others (e.g., team members, supervisors) that inspired you or taught you something new? How will you apply it in your daily life?

I’ve observed how my coworkers consistently communicate updates on their progress and share feedback openly. This keeps the team aligned. I’ll make a habit of regularly updating others on my progress in group projects and asking for feedback to improve teamwork and collaboration. This will help me grow both professionally and personally, ensuring I can contribute more effectively in any team environment.

If we did not have Mojo as our mascot, what character (fictional or realistic) would be a good fit to be our U+ mascot? Why?

If U+ did not have Mojo as its mascot, I think a great alternative would be an owl, which is a symbol of wisdom, knowledge, and guidance. Owls are often associated with education and intelligence, aligning with U+’s mission as an educational organization. Owls can also be designed in a way that appeals to all ages, from students to professionals, symbolizing inclusivity and adaptability.

What is a surprising or unexpected thing you have learned about yourself during your placement so far? What will you do with this knowledge?

A surprising thing I’ve learned about myself during my placement is how adaptable I can be in unfamiliar situations. Initially, I worried about whether I could adjust to a professional environment, but I quickly realized that I could handle new responsibilities and unexpected challenges. When faced with difficulties, I’ll remind myself of past instances where I successfully adjusted, which will motivate me to persevere.

If your current co-op position was not available during applications but you had to commit to U+, what role would you have selected? How do you think that experience would contribute to your personal and professional growth?

If my current Co-op position as a Digital Content Creator was unavailable, I would have selected the role of Marketing Coordinator. This role would deepen my understanding of strategic planning in marketing, from analyzing audience behavior to designing campaigns that achieve measurable goals. I’d also strengthen my time management skills by juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
