Jaydon's November Week 4 Reflection
What have you observed in others (e.g., team members, supervisors) that inspired you or taught you something new? How will you apply it in your daily life?
During the supervisor Q&A meeting, I gained valuable insights into various work-life schedules. This experience led to me reaching a personal epiphany about adjustments I need to make in my own routine. By implementing these changes, I aim to achieve a healthier balance between work and leisure, reducing the risk of burnout and promoting better mental health going forward.
If we did not have Mojo as our mascot, what character (fictional or realistic) would be a good fit to be our U+ mascot? Why?
If Mojo were not our mascot, I would suggest a character inspired by the bumblebee. Bumblebees embody qualities such as teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to growth, which in my opinion are values that align perfectly with U+’s mission. Additionally, their ability to defy the odds and fly despite being naturally non-aerodynamic makes them a powerful symbol of perseverance and determination, making them an inspiring mascot for anyone striving to overcome challenges like learning new languages or new subjects like STEAM.
What is a surprising or unexpected thing you have learned about yourself during your placement so far? What will you do with this knowledge?
During my placement, I discovered a surprising resilience within myself. I realized that even in challenging situations, such as tight deadlines or unexpected incidents, I could remain calm, adapt quickly, and find solutions.
With this knowledge, I plan to approach future challenges with more confidence and a proactive mindset. I’ll also use this understanding to support others in high-pressure situations and provide comforting solutions if possible.
If your current co-op position was not available during applications but you had to commit to U+, what role would you have selected? How do you think that experience would contribute to your personal and professional growth?
If the role of Web Development Assistant was not open during my application process, I most likely would have chosen the role of Marketing Assistant, as even in the process of working on web development tasks at U+ I contemplated heavily about whether web development was right for me or not.
If I were to be in the Marketing sector, I think I would have learned more about advertising and how to bring a product that creates appeal in the customer’s eyes. With the experiences that I would learn, I would be able to apply them in future marketing related careers.
