November Week 4 Reflection – Ibrahim

Ibrahim's November Week 4 Reflection

What have you observed in others (e.g., team members, supervisors) that inspired you or taught you something new? How will you apply it in your daily life?

I noticed how my team members stay organized and consistent, even with repetitive tasks like managing social media follow-ups or creating Eventbrite forms. Their focus and persistence showed me the importance of structure and efficiency. I’ll apply this by sticking to task schedules and working more systematically.

If we did not have Mojo as our mascot, what character (fictional or realistic) would be a good fit to be our U+ mascot? Why?

If Mojo wasn’t the mascot, I think Spider-Man would be a perfect replacement. Spider-Man is not only relatable as a character who balances personal responsibilities with helping others, but he also symbolizes creativity, persistence, and a strong work ethic, qualities that align with U+ Education’s values. Just like U+ encourages students and employees to rise above challenges and think outside the box, Spider-Man inspires people to keep going, even when things get tough. Plus, his fun and approachable personality would resonate well with both younger students and professionals, making him an ideal representative for U+.

What is a surprising or unexpected thing you have learned about yourself during your placement so far? What will you do with this knowledge?

I discovered that I’m surprisingly good at multitasking and staying organized under pressure. For example, while managing the Gary List, I also completed new Eventbrite forms and finalized the HS Blog, all within a single day. I always thought I needed to focus on one task at a time, but this experience showed me I could handle multiple responsibilities without losing track of details. This realization has boosted my confidence and encouraged me to take on more complex challenges in the future. I’ll use this knowledge to stay calm during busy days and refine my workflow further to stay productive.

If your current co-op position was not available during applications but you had to commit to U+, what role would you have selected? How do you think that experience would contribute to your personal and professional growth?

If this position wasn’t available, I would’ve chosen a role in event coordination. Event coordination involves managing logistics, communicating with different stakeholders, and ensuring everything runs smoothly all skills I want to improve. This role would allow me to step outside my comfort zone and focus on real-world problem-solving, especially during high-pressure situations like organizing events or troubleshooting unexpected challenges. I think it would help me grow by improving my leadership skills, time management, and ability to communicate effectively with others, which are crucial for my future goals.
