November Week 1 Reflection – Aamina

Aamina's November Week 1 Reflection

Reflect on your tasks this week. What was the most frustrating and fulfilling part of it? Briefly discuss how steps can be taken to improve workflow and team communication.

The most frustrating part was tackling the proposal project with YRES and LEGO League, especially since it was challenging to understand at first. Being the project leader added extra pressure, as I felt responsible for guiding the team and ensuring we stayed on track. the most fulfilling part was finally completing the first part of the project. Understanding it over time and pushing through the difficulty felt rewarding, especially knowing that I helped the team make progress.

How do you stay inspired and motivated in your work, even on challenging days? In what ways does U+ support you during those challenging times?

U+ encourages a positive work environment, recognizing hard work and progress, which boosts my morale and motivates me to keep going. U+ offers regular check-ins, where I can discuss any struggles I’m facing. Supervisors are supportive and provide constructive feedback, helping me feel more confident about my work.

What are some skills or “hidden talents” you have that could spark something new in our work if we tapped into them?

I enjoy working with Canva and have experience creating engaging, themed slides and DIY projects (like the fall-themed DIY bird catcher). This could bring a unique visual touch to presentations or team materials, making them more engaging and polished. I have strong research skills, which help when gathering information and analyzing it for projects. Tapping into this could bring a more comprehensive approach to tasks.

If you could collaborate with anyone in the company, who would it be and why?

Working with Christina gave me new perspectives on handling complex tasks and organizing ideas more effectively. Given her experience, I think I could learn practical strategies for improving both workflow and creative elements in my projects. Plus, her feedback could be very helpful in fine-tuning my work, especially as I take on challenging tasks like the LEGO League proposal project.
