November Week 1 Reflection – Mayuresan

Mayuresan's November Week 1 Reflection

Reflect on your tasks this week. What was the most frustrating and fulfilling part of it? Briefly discuss how steps can be taken to improve workflow and team communication.

The most frustrating part of my tasks this week was trying to envision how lessons would be carried out for the LEGO Robotic lessons without having the actual robot in front of me to do trial and error and see what works best with hands-on experience. The most fulfilling part, however, was realizing that nonetheless, students will be able to engage and explore the robots with my lesson plans.  Some steps that can be taken to improve workflow and team communication are having weekly check-in meetings or discussions for any issues regarding the project, as well as reviewing and editing peer contributions to ensure all work are meeting expectations.

How do you stay inspired and motivated in your work, even on challenging days? In what ways does U+ support you during those challenging times?

I stay inspired and motivated in my work, even on challenging days, by reminding myself to take breaks, reflect, and finding solace in the small things in my contributions to U+. U+ supports me during those challenging times by offering the opportunity to reflect and discuss challenges I face or achievements I make during the week through weekly reflection forms & check-in meetings with Tanya.

What are some skills or “hidden talents” you have that could spark something new in our work if we tapped into them?

Some skills, and “hidden talents” I have that I believe could spark something new in U+’s work if tapped into would be my passion and dedication to graphic designing. I enjoy exploring my creative vision and creating cohesive designs that are meant to convey information of all kinds to a range of audiences. I have gained experience creating graphics for many clubs at my school, and have garnered a reputable standing in the school community as a result.

If you could collaborate with anyone in the company, who would it be and why?

If I could collaborate with anyone in the company, it would be Tanya. I have recently begun working under her supervision for next summer’s camp workbooks and sufficient to say, I believe she has the assets to make a great team-player and mentor to us. She has been crucial to my experience at U+, always ensuring that students are on-track, focused, and motivated while also helping us out at any time when needed.
