Vanessa's January
Week 2 Reflection

What was one learning objective or goal you had entering this co-op placement? Did you accomplish it? How so/why not?
Among many skills that I had planned on developing, one of the main goals that I had for this co-op experience was to improve on my organizational skills. That was always something that I wanted to work on and throughout this program I was able to do so by having a trusty planner that I was able to check on to ensure that I am not missing anything. I was able to accomplish this goal efficiently and is something that I will take on with me in the future as this is an essential life skill. This is still a skill that I can always improve on but since this co-op experience gives me a new perspective of the real world, it allows me to have more responsibility and adapt to those important life skills.
How has your co-op experience at U+ influenced your career aspirations? (Consider the roles you are open to take on, working model/location, uncompromisable workplace values, etc.)
My co-op experience at U+ has significantly influenced my career aspirations by helping me identify the types of roles I am most drawn to, such as marketing and design, and the working environments where I thrive best. This has shown me that I enjoy showing my creativity. I discovered a preference for collaborating in a team setting and developed a strong appreciation for workplace values like innovation and using my creative skills in showing them through social media posts. This experience clarified my priorities, such as the importance of supportive leadership, clear communication, and growth opportunities, which will guide me in pursuing future roles in marketing.
What is the most memorable thing about your placement at U+? It can be an interaction, a project, a skill. Explain it.
The most memorable thing about my placement at U+ are these High School co-op blogs. These co-op blogs have been continuous and I always know that there will be questions in this survey that have me thinking and reflecting. These questions are always intriguing and always have me reflecting on the past week and my experiences during this co-op program. I am grateful to be reflecting on all the aspects that I may not realize at the time ye through this survey I am able to do so.
Write a six-word memoir about your co-op experience. (E.g., “the best routes are rarely pre-mapped.”)
Explored new paths, found career clarity.
