January Week 2 Reflection – Tina

Tina's January
Week 2 Reflection

What was one learning objective or goal you had entering this co-op placement? Did you accomplish it? How so/why not?

One of the big goals I wanted to achieve during my time at U+ Education was gaining new skills. Now that I’m nearing the end of my placement I can say with confidence that I have 100% accomplished this goal. During my time here I’ve learned to use a range of programs and even gained a few certificates. Things I have learned include how to use Eventbrite, its purpose and how it helps U+, further knowledge and experience with Canva, multiple Jumpstart recipient program certifications and I think the most important of all was learning more about myself, what things I’m interested in doing and if I want to pursue marketing as a future career.

What is the most memorable thing about your placement at U+? It can be an interaction, a project, a skill. Explain it.

Something I would say is memorable to me right now is something I mentioned quite a bit recently in my blog responses, Eventbrite. Before joining U+ I had never even heard of the site or what its use is. The experience I’ve had using it has sparked curiosity towards the different events and organizations that post events onto the site. I think it may be something I use in the future for my personal activities as well!

How has your co-op experience at U+ influenced your career aspirations? (Consider the roles you are open to take on, working model/location, uncompromisable workplace values, etc.)

U+ Education has been a great experience for me. Helping me in figuring out what I want to do in the near future, being more open with speaking to my peers and supervisors, and allowing me to figure out what I value in a workplace and the things that motivate me to work hard. I’ve also learned what kind of working model I prefer through working both at home and at U+’s in person office, I believe a mix between the two is what works for me. All in all I can only hope to find a workplace that’s as supportive as U+ Education.

Write a six-word memoir about your co-op experience. (E.g., “the best routes are rarely pre-mapped.”)

Progress starts with the first step.
