Evelyn's December Week 2 Reflection
Describe a challenge you have faced in a project thus far. How did you overcome it?
I was facing some challenges regarding the 5 minute presentation. I have overcome this problem by speaking to my team and by looking through all the templates. This approach helped me gain confidence and improve the overall flow of my presentation, ultimately allowing me to deliver a more engaging and well-organized message to the audience.
At U+, we advocate for lifelong learning and professional development through experiences. Describe a time where you were pushed out of your comfort zone during your placement and what you have learned from the experience.
During my placement at U+, I was pushed out of my comfort zone when I was tasked with creating three instructional videos as part of a tutoring initiative. I had no prior experience in video production or instructional design, and the thought of speaking directly to an audience through a screen was intimidating. This experience taught me valuable skills in video production, communication, and presenting complex information in a clear and approachable way.
What application or website do you use the most on a regular basis during your shift (e.g., Slack, Google search engine, monday.com)? What do you use it for?
I usually use Slack, Youtube, and Wix. I use slack to sign in and out during my shift, as well as talking to my team here at slack, whether that is students or managers. I use Youtube to watch more videos to gain more experience with Google Ads and WIX. Lastly, I use WIX for any revamping I need to do for the RES sites I’m working on.
If you had to choose an animal (real or fictional) to describe your working style, what would it be and why?
I would describe my working style as that of an octopus. Much like an octopus, I am adaptable and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. I’m resourceful, finding creative solutions to problems, and I can shift between different roles or challenges with ease. The octopus also symbolizes intelligence and problem-solving, traits I value in my approach to work.
