April Week 4 Reflection – Max

Max's April
Week 4 Reflection

What have you observed in others (e.g., team members, supervisors) that inspired you or taught you something new? How will you apply it in your daily life?

I have observed the importance of staying focused and maintaining consistent productivity in the workplace. Many team members effectively manage their time, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule. This has inspired me to prioritize my time better, avoid procrastination, and consistently meet deadlines. I plan to apply this by setting clear goals, staying organized, and maintaining a proactive approach to my tasks in both my Co-op and academic responsibilities.

If we did not have Mojo as our mascot, what character (fictional or realistic) would be a good fit to be our U+ mascot? Why?

If Mojo weren’t our mascot, I would suggest a chameleon. Like Mojo, a chameleon represents adaptability and change. The ability to adjust to different environments or programs, much like how U+ caters to various educational needs, makes the chameleon a great symbol. It aligns with U+’s versatile and dynamic approach to learning and growth.

What is a surprising or unexpected thing you have learned about yourself during your placement so far? What will you do with this knowledge?

One surprising thing I’ve learned about myself is how much I enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone. I initially thought I would be hesitant in team settings, but I’ve found that engaging with my team and participating in discussions has been enjoyable and rewarding. This experience has helped me realize the value of collaboration, and I plan to continue seeking opportunities to interact and grow, both in my personal and professional life.

If your current co-op position was not available during applications but you had to commit to U+, what role would you have selected? How do you think that experience would contribute to your personal and professional growth?

If the web development assistant role wasn’t available, I would have chosen the marketing assistant position. Marketing interests me because it involves creativity, communication, and engaging with an audience, all of which would contribute to my professional growth. This role would allow me to develop my skills in content creation, campaign strategy, and teamwork while helping me understand the business side of education, which will support my long-term career development.
