October Week 4 Reflection – Mayuresan

Mayuresan's October Week 4 Reflection

What are your main tasks for this week, and how do you envision these tasks contributing to the company’s success and growth?

My main tasks for this week are continuing to brainstorm and complete LEGO Robotic lessons for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels for an unique LEGO robot. I was to report back periodically to Christina, my project supervisor, on updates regarding my lesson plans. envision these tasks contributing to the company’s success and growth as having these unique and experimental lesson plans can encourage our teachers to approach these lessons with a growth mindset and try to get their students learning new and engaging content every day. Students are therefore exposed to different creative robots and strengthen their critical thinking skills. This overall makes a positive impact on the child and through word of mouth, we can ensure that future students will be expecting the standards we grow today. Our growth as a company will be noticeable once our programs have an increased amount of students. With the LEGO program, having such engaging lessons can help us build a reputation of educating students for the future through STEAM within the community. This in turn will definitely secure our spot as a leading company in children’s extracurricular STEAM programs.

At U+, communication is a big key to teamwork, collaboration, and success. What steps have you taken to maintain open communication with your coworkers?

Steps I have taken to maintain open communication with my coworkers include updating them regularly on projects and tasks I may be working on and any issues I come across, as well as inquiring if they require assistance as well. This way, we build a collaborative and strong relationship as coworkers while ensuring productivity through the week. Additionally, this can ensure that we are on-track and no one is feeling unengaged and not welcomed at U+. Furthermore, leaving peer suggestions on each other’s work and reviewing them can improve each individual’s work while also creating a sense of mentorship and fostering teamwork within our group.

If you were designing a remote work “survival kit,” what are three things you’d must have to help you succeed?

If I was designing a remote work “survival kit”, three things I’d must have to help me succeed would be firstly, device charging essentials such as a portable charger, adapter, and power bank. This is to be able to regularly check for any Slack notifications on my phone/laptop. Further, a water bottle and some snacks to keep me hydrated and fueled for the day to ensure I am energized and able to put forth my best work. Lastly, a functioning webcam and microphone if not already integrated into my laptop, to be able to attend and participate in many of U+ Education’s regular meetings and check-ins.

What achievements are you proud of this week? What resources or people were there to support you while reaching your goals?

Achievements I am proud of this week was being recognized by the director, Mr.Kevin, for my consistent and solid performance so far at U+, as well as being able to connect with Tanya through an interview and get to know her much more , which was memorable. My project supervisor, Christina, has been supportive since the beginning of my term and has ensured that our team is always on-track, motivated, and aware of what needs to be done. She continues to foster a productive, warm, and collaborative environment virtually and in-person.
