Matthew's November Week 4 Reflection
What have you observed in others (e.g., team members, supervisors) that inspired you or taught you something new? How will you apply it in your daily life?
Working with Aryan at U+ has been a great learning experience. During tasks like budgeting and the sponsorship project, his attention to detail and organized approach stood out. We collaborated effectively by dividing work evenly and maintaining open communication. I’ve learned to be more organized and proactive, skills I’ll apply in future teamwork.
If we did not have Mojo as our mascot, what character (fictional or realistic) would be a good fit to be our U+ mascot? Why?
If Mojo weren’t our mascot, a character like Baymax from Big Hero 6 would be a great fit for U+. Baymax embodies support, care, and problem-solving, which align with U+’s mission of empowering individuals and fostering growth. His approachable and adaptable nature reflects the innovative and collaborative spirit of the organization.
What is a surprising or unexpected thing you have learned about yourself during your placement so far? What will you do with this knowledge?
A surprising thing I’ve learned during my placement is how much I enjoy working collaboratively. I’ve always considered myself independent, but tasks like the sponsorship project showed me the value of teamwork and how much I thrive when sharing ideas and responsibilities. Moving forward, I’ll seek more opportunities to collaborate, both at work and in school, to develop these skills further.
If your current co-op position was not available during applications but you had to commit to U+, what role would you have selected? How do you think that experience would contribute to your personal and professional growth?
If my current co-op position weren’t available, I would have chosen a role in business development at U+. This position would have allowed me to enhance my communication and networking skills by connecting with clients and strategizing for growth. It would also improve my adaptability and problem-solving abilities, both valuable for personal and professional growth.
