aryan's November Week 4 Reflection
What have you observed in others (e.g., team members, supervisors) that inspired you or taught you something new? How will you apply it in your daily life?
Observing the behavior of team members and supervisors has taught me the importance of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. I’ve seen how those who take initiative and confront challenges with a growth mindset often inspire others to do the same. The ability to work under pressure and approach problems with a constructive positive attitude has been something I have noticed from team members. I want to apply these principles by seeking feedback to improve, and staying focused on solutions during difficult situations.
If we did not have Mojo as our mascot, what character (fictional or realistic) would be a good fit to be our U+ mascot? Why?
If we didn’t have Mojo as our mascot, I believe that Gandalf would be a good choice to represent U+. As a wise and powerful figure, Gandalf represents the values of knowledge, mentorship, and guidance, similar to U+’s mission to help students grow and succeed. His understanding of different subjects and his ability to lead others through challenging journeys and tasks, is parallel to the role U+ plays in helping students navigate their learning experiences. Gandalf would be a symbol of growth, creativity, and the endless possibilities that come with education.
What is a surprising or unexpected thing you have learned about yourself during your placement so far? What will you do with this knowledge?
I have learned that I really enjoy collaborating and working with others on projects, which is surprising because before my placement, I usually preferred independent work. Now, I enjoy sharing ideas and listening to others. I’ve realized that working together often leads to more efficiency, and I’m able to gain valuable insights from different perspectives. This has made me appreciate the power of collaborating and working with others.
If your current co-op position was not available during applications but you had to commit to U+, what role would you have selected? How do you think that experience would contribute to your personal and professional growth?
If my current co-op position was unavailable and I had to commit to U+, I would have selected the Business Development Assistant role. This position would have provided me with valuable experience in business development, customer relations, and program creation. Leading meetings and helping to create new programs for U+ would help me expand my leadership abilities and strategic thinking. Since I am interested in business, this role would have allowed me to gain hands-on experience on the customer relations, and project management side of the sector.
