November Week 2 Reflection – Aruran

Aruran's November Week 2 Reflection

Reflect on the responsibilities you’ve taken on so far at U+, what project(s) are you most proud of and why?

I have taken on the responsibilities of filling out sponsor’s information on the Back to School Drive Tracker, updated sites including the Ottawa and Montreal RES and also making a report on the Google Ads. I am most proud of the updating of the RES websites because it was the most fun, and also was quite challenging as sometimes Wix has weird features that would do/undo some of your work when you don’t input anything.

Think back to the goals you set for yourself near the beginning of your co-op term. What steps have you taken to achieve these goals? (if you haven’t started yet, what steps are you going to take?)

A goal that I have set near the beginning of the co-op term is punctuality. To achieve these goals, I would set constant reminders and alarms to help me keep time on track, and telling me which tasks and assignments to work on when. Every morning, I wake up at 7 am and I get ready, then I come to school where I sign in at 8:30 and work.

What’s an unexpected skill you developed over the work term so far and how do you envision this bringing a positive change to your career?

An unexpected skill I have developed over the work term is time management. I was not terrible at managing my time, however it was something that needed to be worked on. It wasn’t a skill I noticed that has gotten improved until I use the practices, such as reminders, in my routine. This will bring a positive change to my career as it would help me manage my time with tasks if I have too many at hand.

If you could change one thing about your working environment, what would it be and how would it positively impact the quality of your work?

One thing would be to have a completely empty room. I come to my school to work because I do not have a personal computer to allow me to work at home, and my teacher lets me use a computer lab that’s relatively empty to work. However, the issue is sometimes, some teachers walk in and out which may be a little disruptive and/or distracting. This would allow me to work undistracted.
