November Week 1 Reflection – Melody

Melody's November Week 1 Reflection

Reflect on your tasks this week. What was the most frustrating and fulfilling part of it? Briefly discuss how steps can be taken to improve workflow and team communication.

This week, I encountered no frustrations with my tasks, which made for a smooth experience overall. The most fulfilling part was completing and posting the Volunteering Opportunities Instagram post—it felt rewarding to see the finished product go live. To improve workflow and team communication, I think taking initiative is key. By proactively suggesting ideas, asking questions, and keeping everyone updated on my progress, I can help ensure that tasks move forward efficiently and that we all stay aligned on our shared goals.

How do you stay inspired and motivated in your work, even on challenging days? In what ways does U+ support you during those challenging times?

I stay inspired and motivated in my work by focusing on staying positive, even on challenging days. When tasks get tough, I remind myself of my progress and the skills I build, which helps me keep a forward-looking mindset. U+ also supports me by providing a nice work environment that’s both professional and friendly, making it easier to handle stress and stay engaged. Being surrounded by supportive coworkers in such a welcoming atmosphere motivates me to push through challenges and make the most of each day.

What are some skills or “hidden talents” you have that could spark something new in our work if we tapped into them?

One skill I could bring to our work is my fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese, which could help us connect with a broader audience or create content that resonates with a more diverse group. I also enjoy problem-solving and brainstorming creative ideas, which could spark fresh approaches to our projects.

If you could collaborate with anyone in the company, who would it be and why?

If I could collaborate with anyone in the company, it would be the Teaching team. Working with them would provide a great opportunity to understand how our content could directly support their educational goals and improve learning outcomes. Collaborating with the Teaching team could also inspire new ideas for creating digital content that aligns closely with their instructional needs.
