May Week 4 Reflection – Louis

Louis's May
Week 4 Reflection

If your week had a title like a book or movie, what would it be and why?

If my week had a title like a book, it would be Late Night Studying. This title captures the main theme of my week (long hours of studying for an upcoming Chemistry test). This started on Monday night when I realized the sheer amount of material that the test was going to cover. So as a result, I stayed up quite late at night reviewing and working through problems. However, it isn’t as bad as it seems because I had a study partner who joined me throughout the night.

Describe a time during your co-op here where you witnessed or experienced a “mistake” that turned out to be a good learning moment?

There was a mistake that I witnessed that was a great learning experience. This mistake was publishing the website when we aren’t fully done with the website. This causes some parts to look half-finished. This was a serious problem that one of the Web Team members had to point out. However, after that experience, I always remind myself to save it as a draft before making it accessible to the public.

How did you contribute to your team or workplace environment?

As a Web Development Assistant, I contribute to my team by being reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. One of my most common contributions is reviewing what parts of a webpage can be improved on. I try to find incorrect things such as redirecting to the wrong link or typos. However, I also participate in giving visual feedback too. I also took on more difficult tasks such as creating a webpage from scratch. Currently, I’m working on an upcoming event happening on November 1, 2025. This event is the Volunteer Success Conference & Ceremony 2025. I really enjoy creating webpages from scratch rather than revamping existing pages. This is because I get the freedom to allow new ideas to be used in these webpages.

If we had a team potluck what food would you bring and why? If not what game would you bring and why?

If we had a team potluck, I would bring pizza. This is because this dish is simple and enjoyed by many. I feel like pizza will bring us all together, and it’s the kind that helps strike conversations with one another. Whether it is talking about what toppings they like on their pizza or bonding with each other, pizza is a great way to create a relaxing atmosphere where people will feel comfortable chatting and connecting.
