January Week 2 Reflection – Rose

Rose's January
Week 2 Reflection

What was one learning objective or goal you had entering this co-op placement? Did you accomplish it? How so/why not?

My one learning objective or goal I had as I enter this co-op placement is whether if I have learned new discoveries and understandings about managing social media and help gain better influence’s. Throughout my experiences, I would say I did accomplish this goal but not entirely. This is because, I did discover how to manage an official non-profit organization’s redbook account and have been posted content for quite a while. I would say, some post did do a great job and attract a good number of consumers and followers which I didn’t expect. However, while doing this I did learn that there’s no guarantee that we can keep the same amount of followers because consumers only will keep following if we continue to post content that interests them. So this is something interesting I learned and sort of accomplished at this placement.

What is the most memorable thing about your placement at U+? It can be an interaction, a project, a skill. Explain it.

My most memorable thing at my placement at U+ would be meeting new friends during my in person shift. As I start my co-op, I was assigned to come in person every Friday, and in my first in person shift I’ve already met some new members and supervisors. Ever since that, everytime we have the met in person we get to share what we’re doing and help each other out. I feel like apart from doing work, there should be some entertainment to keep us engage, so definitely a fun experience.

How has your co-op experience at U+ influenced your career aspirations? (Consider the roles you are open to take on, working model/location, uncompromisable workplace values, etc.)

During my co-op experience here at U+, I learned a lot about social media promoting strategies and how managing non-profit organizations social media is not easy, although this sounds more like marketing and different from digital content creator. However, it was fun to do creating content and get them posted. So throughout this experience, it did influence me that not only that I can consider graphic design but also can marketing.

Write a six-word memoir about your co-op experience. (E.g., “the best routes are rarely pre-mapped.”)

Life is all about creativity, and connection.
