Week 2 Reflection

What was one learning objective or goal you had entering this co-op placement? Did you accomplish it? How so/why not?
One learning objective I had entering this co-op placement was improving my soft skills such as communication and time management. I believe that I have accomplished these goals over the course of this term, as I was able to utilize them effectively many times for projects and tasks. For example, during my RPT and career fair, I had to make good use of the my time to communicate my ideas efficiently. I was able to make a connection with students and that helped demonstrate my learning at U+ by doing so.
What is the most memorable thing about your placement at U+? It can be an interaction, a project, a skill. Explain it.
The most memorable thing about my placement at U+ would be when I was working in-person at our office building LEGO Robots. I got the opportunity to meet Christina once again (I met her initially at our 2024 Summer Camp), and Tanya, my supervisor. It was a pleasant experience being able to meet them as well as my colleagues and work together to create LEGO robotic builds.
How has your co-op experience at U+ influenced your career aspirations? (Consider the roles you are open to take on, working model/location, uncompromisable workplace values, etc.)
I do believe that my co-op experience at U+ has influenced, but also strengthened my career aspirations. I aspire to be in the educational field, as a teacher one day so I do believe this experience helped set the foundation for that. I learned how to manage a hybrid working model of in-person and virtual, so I believe this will be helpful for me in the future. I also learned what values are important to me in a workplace, for example, getting the support and resources I need to thrive in a workplace.
Write a six-word memoir about your co-op experience. (E.g., “the best routes are rarely pre-mapped.”)
Cherish your journey, not the end goal.
