Week 2 Reflection

What was one learning objective or goal you had entering this co-op placement? Did you accomplish it? How so/why not?
One goal I had for my co-op experience was to learn more about teaching and I believe I accomplish this goal. This is because I was able to go to certain events that helped my understanding of teaching. For example when I went to Castle more public school I found that different approaches would be better depending on the class’s age. I also found teaching more enjoyable than I originally thought as I assumed there would be kids that didn’t respect me, but mostly everyone in the classes I went to were very nice and polite.
What is the most memorable thing about your placement at U+? It can be an interaction, a project, a skill. Explain it.
I would say the most memorable thing about my placement at U+ would be meeting both my supervisors in person for the first time. This is because I had a general idea of how my supervisors would act thanks to the online meetings and text messages, but when I met them in person for the first time they were not what I expected( In a good way).
How has your co-op experience at U+ influenced your career aspirations? (Consider the roles you are open to take on, working model/location, uncompromisable workplace values, etc.)
U+ has influenced my career aspirations to be more open to becoming a teacher. This is because I always left becoming a teacher as an option, but it wasn’t the first option I had for a career. But now I have experience teaching which was very enjoyable, now I think of teaching as one of the primary career paths I could take thanks to U+.
Write a six-word memoir about your co-op experience. (E.g., “the best routes are rarely pre-mapped.”)
Given work, but often feeling tired.
