Rose's December Week 2 Reflection
Describe a challenge you have faced in a project thus far. How did you overcome it?
One challenge I encountered during my project was the difficulty of video editing on CapCut, particularly the need to download the file each time to share it with others. Every time I received new feedback, I had to download the video again, which was inconvenient and time-consuming. However, I was able to overcome this by gathering all the feedback and incorporating it into a single video, reducing the number of downloads required. In the end, it wasn’t a major obstacle, and I was able to manage the process efficiently.
At U+, we advocate for lifelong learning and professional development through experiences. Describe a time where you were pushed out of your comfort zone during your placement and what you have learned from the experience.
This particular time was when I asked my supervisor to review my work. When I received their feedback, I realized that I hadn’t been putting in my best effort from their perspective. This moment made me reflect on their comments and recognize areas where I could improve. I understood that moving forward, I should take more time to carefully consider their feedback and apply it to improve my work in the future.
What application or website do you use the most on a regular basis during your shift (e.g., Slack, Google search engine, monday.com)? What do you use it for?
For my role, I’m mostly focused on using Canva for designs, REDBOOK as my priority social media platform for like postings, Slack for communicating with my team members, sometimes Capcut for better video editing, Google drive for organizing and finding images for designs or working on google sheets for certain tracker, and google search engine for inquires. I was also taught that we are allowed to use ChatGPT for help, like to answer some questions we have or to help us rephrase or translate certain sentences.
If you had to choose an animal (real or fictional) to describe your working style, what would it be and why?
If I had to choose an animal to describe my working style, it would be a hummingbird. I chose the hummingbird because it is an animal that requires a lot of attention and focus, constantly “working” at a fast pace. What’s interesting about the hummingbird is that it can slow down when necessary, which reflects my own approach to work. Typically, I complete tasks quickly and sometimes feel like I have too much free time. However, there are times when certain tasks require more time and attention to do them properly.
