April Week 2 Reflection – Max

Max's April
Week 3 Reflection

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is being able to communicate with other high school and university students. It’s rewarding because it encourages communication within my coworkers as it doesn’t feel like I’m talking to adults, just other students. Another thing is, I can ask for help with universities and more information, as they have chosen different universities and know information about them.

What is a work gadget you’d invent to make your work life easier?

A new work gadget I’d invent to make my life easier would be an ergonomic office chair that has a built-in refrigerator below it. It would be a top of the line ergonomic chair for reducing pain, and promoting good posture. The built-in refrigerator is so that I can grab a drink/snack right below me without moving. However, that does mean I can’t go on a 3 minute walking break going from my place to the kitchen.

What is the best way to wind down after work?

My favourite way to wind down after a busy day is definitely sleep. Well sleep, playing games, or watching TV. Either way, sleep is definitely my favourite. Imagine working then commuting back to school and getting dismissed at 3:15pm, then going someplace to volunteer. Imagine the sleep you’d get after that. Perfect.

Did you have any big realizations during your experience here?

Before I started my co-op placement I always thought you had to be firm, rule-following, and serious. However, now that I’ve began my co-op it seems I was wrong. Well, except for the rule-following part that’s always there. Professionalism is all about being respectful, rule-following, and open. It’s not how movies portrayed it as, it’s quite the opposite.
