Aaron's October Week 1 Reflection
Please share how you feel about the onboarding process. What are some resources that were helpful, and what’s something you’d like to see implemented in the future?
The onboarding training this week went by pretty well as I was mainly tasked with focusing on understanding and getting familiar with Google Ads. I found it fairly straightforward and every shift for this whole week I have been researching about Google Ads. I found the best resources for learning Google Ads were research, watching videos and just trying it out. For what I want to be implemented in the future, I would most likely say that possibly some Google Ads video as I put in a lot of time searching for videos to help me understand them but if they were implemented on the website it would be much easier and faster to learn google ads.
Describe your main tasks this week. Who did you work with? How did you approach the task? What did you accomplish?
My main task this week was just trying to get a sense of how google Ads work and understand how to use it. I mainly watched videos from youtube explaining how google Ads works and if I had any questions regarding what was in the video I would just Ask A.I to clarify it for me.
What is one big challenge you faced this week? Who did you turn to when you needed support? Describe what you learned and what you would do differently the next time.
One challenge I faced was the fact that I didn’t have access to google ads. So I turned to Kevin asking him for help asking him what I could do to resolve this issue, after talking with him we were able to come to a conclusion which was that he just needed to grant me permission. I learned that talking to your supervisor and asking for assistance is really important as they know more about the job then you and if you have any questions they are more than willing to help and you don’t have to be worried about them being mad at you for asking questions in fact they encourage it!
What are three main skills U+/YRES allowed you to leverage/develop this week? Reflect on how each skill brings value to your professional development and propels you forward in the industry.
The three main skills that allowed me develop were researching, problem solving and an positive attuite. Contrary to many people beliefs many people think having an positive attuited doesn’t help much in the work industry but by always thinking positively your mind is more calmer and can handle the stress more easily as well. Another important skill is researching as when you are working at U+ Education you need to do a lot of self learning which is why learning how to research efficiently will help propel you forward as if you are able to research by yourself it will help a lot. Finally problem solving is one of the most important skills you need as often their are problems you will face and if you do not know how to tackle them you will often be in a serious problem as you will be stuck on it forever, so it is best to have problem solving skills to help you in this industry.
What personal motto or guiding principle would you bring with you to your role next week, and how do you see it helping you contribute to our organization’s mission?
A motto I would bring for next week is “think positive and never give up” because throughout this week I have been through ups and down trying to learn more about google ads, but by thinking positively and never giving up, I was able to succeed in learning more about google.
