Aaron's December Week 3 Reflection
Reflecting on your job performance, what factors (e.g., environment, intrinsic motivation) contribute to your productivity? Please briefly explain how so.
What helps keep me motivated and contributes to my productivity is the sense of responsibility that comes with working for an organization. Unlike schoolwork, my tasks directly impact the organization’s growth and success. This drives me to put in my best effort to help the organization improve and achieve its goals.
Interviewees often ask the interviewer about the company culture during interviews. Reflecting on your placement experience at U+, how would you describe the U+ company culture?
The U+ company culture is unique and diverse, bringing together people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. This diversity has given me the chance to learn about different perspectives and traditions. Everyone is very friendly and approachable, which creates a welcoming environment and makes collaboration easy.
What are two things you are grateful for that is related to your placement? (E.g., an opportunity to work on a certain project, making new friends)
Two things I’m grateful for related to my co-op placement are the chance to work from home and the flexibility it provides. Being able to work from home is a huge benefit, as it lets me enjoy lunch at home and seamlessly transition into my co-op tasks without needing to commute, making my day more efficient.
Our sister organization YRES has a mascot called Nova, a big horned sheep. There are no other details about her other than she always wears a red kerchief and that she is always ready for an adventure. What do you suppose is the backstory of Nova?
Nova, the bighorn sheep, has always been a bold adventurer, drawn to the mysteries of the mountains and beyond. One day, while exploring a hidden trail, she stumbled upon a red kerchief lying on the ground. Intrigued, she picked it up and decided to wear it as a symbol of her adventurous spirit. With her kerchief on, Nova embarked on countless journeys, not just climbing mountains but also uncovering the wonders of science, solving tricky equations, and learning about the world around her. She eagerly shared her discoveries with her flock of sheep friends, inspiring them to explore, learn, and embrace the joy of adventure.
