As a marketing assistant co-op student, I experienced first-hand a hybrid environment between an office setting and a more chaotic summer camp. Throughout my placement, I learned how to effectively communicate with colleagues, problem-solve, and manage my time wisely, as it required strong teamwork among the rest of the marketing team in order to keep up with the constant tight deadlines. One thing I didn’t expect was to make as many friends as I did. Initially, I was worried that everything would be overly professional and intimidating, but over time I realized that many of the other employees were co-op students like me and we spoke a lot during our breaks, bonding over our shared experience at the workplace. My colleagues and supervisors were all extremely supportive, friendly, and helpful, motivating me to work hard consistently in order to play my part in the organization. I would highly recommend applying as a co-op student at U+ for anybody considering, and am incredibly grateful to have been granted this opportunity for learning and growth!
