Mathletes in Training (Grade 1 - 4)
Looking for a virtual math class that’s perfect for students in grades 1-4? Look no further than U+ Mathletes in Training, a series of virtual classes led by a professional math teacher. By meeting weekly on Zoom, we cover all the major math concepts a student needs to master in their grade. Here’s a breakdown of what you will learn:
For Grade 1, we’ll cover counting up to 20, addition and subtraction under tens, comparing small numbers, reading numbers up to 100, recognizing patterns, telling time, and identifying 2D shapes.
For Grade 2, we’ll move on to counting up to 100, comparing numbers, long addition and subtraction, counting by 2’s or other numbers under 10, multiplication under tens, identifying growing and decreasing patterns, and reading dates on a number chart.
For Grade 3, we’ll focus on reading and comparing large numbers, long addition and subtraction with numbers over 100, multiplication over tens, and easy division with reminders. We’ll also dive into prime numbers, factors (including greatest common factors and least common multiples), telling time by minutes, and identifying quadrilaterals and symmetry.
Finally, for Grade 4, we’ll cover concepts like fractions, decimals (including money), averages (mean, median, and mode), and easy measurements. We’ll also teach students how to operate with fractions, multiply decimals, and convert between fractions, decimals, and percentages. And lastly, we’ll explore 3D shapes and how to recognize them.
